I'm a member of April, a French non-profit organization which aims at defending and promoting free software. Its recent battles were against ACTA (which has been rejected by the EU parliament). If you want to learn more about free software, click the following link!
I participate to the World Community Grid. This organization consists in distributed computation for scientific problems. For instance, there are computations to find solutions to the Dengue, AIDS, Climate Change, Clean Water, and many others.
